Sat. April 24th we checked in at 10 am. We were to check in at the temple arrival center. When we got there it was so organized and buzzing with excitement with all the new missionaries. We were given a notebook (side note Debbie, Jan and Karen if you thought our grid of confusion was confusing they gave us a notebook of confusion) with a schedule for everything, our host dinner (more on that later), our mailbox, training schedule, regular work schedule, inventory of the apt., maps, summer performance schedule, church schedule, setting apart schedule, I guess with 60 missionary couples they have to have a schedule for everything.
We got all moved in (that took about 30 mins) and then we headed for Wal-mart for ALL the things we couldn't fit in Tom's car. Wal-mart is in Keokuk, about 20 mins. away winding along the Mississippi. We got everything from new toothbrush heads to a foam topper for our bed (that is hard as a rock). However, after 5 nights in a hotel it was sooooo nice to have my own blankey. We came home got everything put away and then were off to a dinner hosted by one of the couples that extended last year and have been here a year. At dinner they answered all our silly questions like when we wear missionary clothes, what exactly are missionary clothes and guess what?? I can wear open toe shoes.
To finish the night off we went to a production called Rendezvous in Old Nauvoo. It is hilarious and touching all at the same time and any of you coming to visit us will for sure have to go see it.
