Hannibal Missouri

So a few weeks ago we went to Hannibal Missouri, http://www.hanmo.com/ Hannibal is the home of Samuel Clemons (Mark Twain), a famous author of the 19th century. His books included adventures about Tom Sawyer and Huckelberry Finn. The town is located on a bend of the Mississippi River in northeartern Missouri. We saw the Tom Sawyer Fence

Mark Twain Cave

We even rode on the Tom Sawyer ferry which was the only way we could get on the mississippi, it turns out it is very hard to get a boat ride around here. Noone will rent a boat or let you borrow one.
My favorite part of the day was the Mark Twain (or I call it Tom Sawyer) Cave. It was quite cool to see all the crevices and tunnels and you could just imagine how he could write the books he did because the cave would give you a lot of material for your imagination.

Mark Twain said, “the cave is an uncanny place of crooked passages that run in and out again and never end.” Also he said, “I got lost in there myself with a lady and our candle was knocked out by a bat...We were in there for 3 days and 2 nights.” Tom would bring bats home from the cave to show his mother.
